London first full day

Arrived in London yesterday and went to bed early due to jetlag and the 8 hour time difference. Today I did a ton. I saw London Bridge, Tower of London, The National Gallary (Bernini, Monet, Manet, Renoir, Michaelangelo, Da Vinci. I am sure it is nothing compared to the Louvre but still really cool), Buckingham Palace, and Westminster. I also went on the most claustrophobic tube ride possible during rush hour (It was about 200 degrees in there). Made it back to the Hostel in one peice and am now relaxing.

Pictures to follow when I have a place to upload them from.

Cheers.

Introduction

Welcome all. This is my blog for keeping all my friends and relatives up to date with my doings on the subcontinent Europe. For those not in the know I am enrolled in a quarter long program in Paris. The program is University of Washington foreign study program through the Comparative Literature department. The program is also affiliated with the French department (my minor) and European Studies (My major). In Paris UW professors will teach classes in a rented classroom in the Parisien neighborhood of Saint Germain. We will be studying French cinema, specifically the New Wave, a genre of 1960's and 1970's French film as well as scholarly criticism and French Language.

The first two weeks of my trip will take place before my program starts on October 3rd. I will be in Great Britain backpacking from Sept 23rd until October 2nd. I will take many weekend excursions around the rest Europe with my classmates.

I look forward to future entries from abroad over the next months.

Cheers
